Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (FGIDs)

WHAT IS INVOLVED

You will be prescreened to qualify for the study. Once accepted, you will complete an online intake form consisting of a medical questionnaire and a consent form.

The study will be run across 2 blocks and each block will be made up of 2 group. The study will start June 2017. You will complete a total of 4 quality of life questionnaires securely online which takes 10 minutes to answer; during weeks 1 and 4, and once again during weeks 9 and 12. You will also receive free 90 minute osteopathic treatments between June and September 2017 which will be conducted at the CSO Campus, 1150 Station Street, Floor 1, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6A 4C7.

TREATMENTS

Treatments will be according to the methodology of the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice. The first treatment will focus on improving vitality, cleaning up and freeing the neuromusculoskeletal system to improve neurovascular input to the visceral system. The second treatment will focus on the pressure mechanism and visceral system. The third treatment will focus on freeing and harmonizing elements of the central chain and auto-regulation.
